Amid the controversy of leaving Plymouth to drive a Ford, his 1969 Ford Torino blazed across the finish line with a four second lead against Bobby Isaac. Richard won 10 races for Ford during the 1969 race season. This is a commemorative car, now captured on a 2008 Ford Fusion chassis.
