For this win we really had nothing to prove. It was just another race, we had geared up and done everything that needed to be done. We felt like we had won at Daytona lots of times we just came first this once...and it was special. It was the coolest thing we ever done...starting out the racing season with a win at Daytona you’ve got a good year no matter what...and that win tied with NASCAR’s anniversary...that made it really more special. A little girl gave Dale a lucky penny before that race...he personally came back to the trailer...he said he needed epoxy to glue it to the front of the car...and when he won, he brought her with him to the winner’s circle...it was a big deal..." - Chocolate Myers
