ARC Historical Series, 1979 Richard Petty #43 (STP) Oldsmobile 442. In 1979, Richard "King" Petty earned his seventh and final "crown" in the NASCAR Cup Series. Petty used both Chevrolet and Oldsmobile to power his way to the championship with five wins, one pole award, 23 top-five and 27 top-ten finishes. He drove the #43 STP Oldsmobile 442 in seven of the 31 races, posting five top-five finishes in the car. He won one race behind the wheel of the #43 STP Oldsmobile - the famous 1979 Daytona 500.
