For the first time in the brand's history, Mopar sponsored a NASCAR Nextel Cup Series car, with its logo adorning the hood of the car. This car was driven in the UAW-GM Quality 500 at Lowe's Motor Speedway on October 16, 2004. Kasey Kahne was the 2004 NASCAR Nextel Cup Rookie of the Year.
